Valencia, all the charm of the Mediterranean diet

Come to Valencia and you will discover that rice can be cooked 40 different ways. That the famous Mediterranean diet becomes a pleasure of five forks, by the hand of prestigious restaurants. The parties and traditions that distinguish and characterize Valencia are the cultural heritage with more than 2000 years of history waiting for you to enjoy them. The Valencian cuisine is very varied, natural and traditional. Fruits and vegetables of their fertile lands, along with fresh seafood are the main ingredients of this exquisite Mediterranean cuisine.

The protagonist in most dishes is rice in various forms of preparation, highlighting the Paella dish internationally known. Other traditional dishes include arroz al horno (rice cooked in the oven), arroz a banda (with fish), black rice (with squid in its ink), the fideuá (replacing the rice noodles) or all i pebre (garlic and pepper) that accompanies the eel stew. All these dishes can be washed down by the white wines of Alto Turia and the Sierra, or red from Requena, Utiel and Campo de Liria. All of these fine wines with appellation of origin itself.

Regarding the desserts there are many alternatives to choose from: the fruit according to season and whose leadership has the orange, or a large baking as rosettes, arrop and tallaetes or arnadí (sweet pumpkin, sweet potato and almond), which may be accompanied by a sweet wine or muscat. And of course, donuts, very consumed during the fallas. In summer, fresh horchata accompanied by fartons (long biscuits) will delight the visitor. To end off, with a toast of the typical “agua de valencia”, a cocktail of orange juice and champagne.
